# SEC EDGAR Filings

> Search filters and result fields of sec_edgar_filings.

* **Dataset id:** `sec_edgar_filings`
* **Jurisdiction:** US · SEC
* **Date field:** `filing_date`. The search's top-level `date_from` and `date_to` filter on it.
* **Access:** any API key.

## Filters

Send these under `filters.sec_edgar_filings` in a [search](/api-reference/v3/search) request. A filter not listed here, or a value of the wrong type, is a 400. The top-level `date_from` and `date_to` set `date_from` and `date_to` below, so give a date in one place only.

  Exact stock ticker, case-insensitive (e.g. 'VRDN', 'MRNA', 'SRPT').

<ParamField body="cik" type="string">
  Exact SEC CIK. Zero-padded to 10 digits automatically ('1590750' matches '0001590750').
</ParamField>

<ParamField body="company_name" type="string">
  Keyword match on the company name (BM25 tokenized, case-insensitive). Example: 'Viridian Therapeutics'.

<ParamField body="sic" type="string">
  Exact 4-digit SIC industry code (e.g. '2834' pharmaceutical preparations, '3841' surgical/medical instruments).
</ParamField>

<ParamField body="form_type" type="string">
  Exact filing type. Common values: '10-K', '10-Q', '8-K', 'S-1', '424B5', '10-K/A'. Use the exact form string as it appears on EDGAR.

<ParamField body="accession_number" type="string">
  Exact SEC accession number, e.g. '0001590750-26-000007'.
</ParamField>

<ParamField body="item" type="string">
  Single 8-K item code to match against the filing's reported items, e.g. '2.02' (results of operations), '1.01' (material agreement), '5.02' (departure/appointment of officers), '8.01' (other events). Only 8-Ks carry items.
</ParamField>

<ParamField body="date_from" type="string (date)">
  Inclusive lower bound on filing date (YYYY-MM-DD).
</ParamField>

<ParamField body="date_to" type="string (date)">
  Inclusive upper bound on filing date (YYYY-MM-DD).
</ParamField>
